How to Say ‘Should I do something?’ in Japanese

何かしたほうがいいですか。

nani ka shi ta hou ga ii desu ka

[nah-nee kah shee ta hoh gah ee dess kah]

💬 Usage Tip: Past form of a verb + ほうがいい means "it's better to" or "you should": 休んだほうがいい "you should rest". The verb stays in past form even though the advice is about the future.
