💬 With days of the week, próxima goes before the day: próxima terça-feira, while passada usually goes after: terça-feira passada. You can reuse that pattern with other weekdays too.

💬 Portuguese normally says Que dia é hoje? or Qual é o dia de hoje? for "What day is it today?" This card's wording is understandable, but the shorter Que dia é hoje? is what you're more likely to hear.

💬 Em + a becomes na, so na próxima semana is literally em a próxima semana. The same thing happens in no próximo mês from em + o.

💬 Todo changes to match what comes after it: todos os meses, todas as semanas, todo o ano. It's a useful pattern for saying how often something happens.

💬 With masculine time words, próximo stays masculine: próximo mês, próximo ano. Compare that with feminine próxima semana.

💬 Este changes to match the noun: este ano, but esta semana and esta segunda-feira. This is a very common pattern with time expressions.

💬 Dia de semana means a weekday, and the plural is dias de semana. For "at weekends" or "on weekdays," Portuguese often uses these noun phrases rather than building them the way English does.

💬 Fim de semana becomes fins de semana in the plural. Portuguese often keeps the de + noun part unchanged and only pluralizes the main noun: compare fim de semana / fins de semana.

💬 The ç in março makes an s sound, so it's pronounced like (MAR-su), not with a hard k sound. The final o is also usually weak in Portugal.

💬 For calendar dates, Portuguese uses data, not dia: Qual é a data de hoje? asks for the full date, while Que dia é hoje? asks what day of the week it is. That distinction is useful in everyday situations like appointments.

💬 Portuguese dates use de between the day and the month: um de janeiro, dois de fevereiro, três de março. You can reuse that pattern with any date.
