Basic time: Scheduling a time for the appointment

💬 Put any time in front of 可以嗎 to propose it: 明天可以嗎 "Is tomorrow okay?"

💬 Chinese puts the bigger unit first: part of the day, then the hour. So 3 pm is 下午三點, the reverse of English.

💬 Time words go from biggest to smallest: day, then part of the day, then hour. Say the time and add 可以 to accept; no "is" is needed.

💬 Adding 一點 after a description softens it to "a bit": 晚一點 "a bit later."

💬 的 lets a whole description sit in front of a noun: 早一點 + 的 + 時間. You can also say 晚一點的時間 "a slightly later time."

💬 上 "up" and 下 "down" split the day at noon: 上午 is before noon, 下午 after. Noon itself is 中午 (zhōng wǔ).

💬 Any number + 點 gives the hour: 兩點 (liǎng diǎn) is two o'clock. Use 兩 here, not 二.

💬 也 "also" always goes before the verb, never at the end like English "too."

💬 那就 means "in that case, then" and settles a choice. You can reuse it: 那就星期三 "Wednesday, then."

🇹🇼 貴姓, literally "honorable surname," is the polite way staff ask your name. Never use 貴 about yourself; just answer with 我姓.

💬 姓 (xìng) is itself the verb "to be surnamed," so no 是 is needed: 我姓王 "My surname is Wang."

🇹🇼 好的 sounds a bit more polite and service-like than a bare 好. Receptionists use it constantly to confirm things.

💬 Put a time before 見 (jiàn) "see" to say "see you then": 明天見 "see you tomorrow."
