Restaurant reservations Part 2 (Advanced): Inquiring about parking or valet services.

🇯🇵 [もしもし] is used only on the phone, usually by the caller to open the conversation. You would not use it when walking into the restaurant in person.

💬 Put [の] between two nouns and the first one describes the second: [今夜の予約] is "tonight's reservation." You can reuse this with things like [明日の予約] or [家族の予約].

💬 [〜について] means "about/regarding," so you can swap in almost any topic: [駐車場についてお聞きしたいのですが] or [料金についてお聞きしたいのですが]. The ending [のですが] softens the request and makes it sound less abrupt on the phone.

💬 [〜についてお聞きしたいのですが] is a useful polite pattern for "I'd like to ask about …," especially on the phone. Swap in the topic before [について], like [予約について] or [駐車場について].

🇯🇵 This is a standard business-phone greeting in Japan, especially from shops and restaurants answering the phone. It is warmer and more service-minded than a plain "hello."

🇯🇵 Staff may say this instead of a direct "What do you want?" It is polite, standard customer-service wording for inviting your question.

💬 [横] means "side," and [〜の横に] means "next to/beside ~." You can reuse it with other places: [店の横に], [駅の横に].
